So today I was thinking about the mysteries of God and a line from I Will Possess Your Heart came to mind. Although it is out of context, its very applicable.
It’s like a book elegantly bound
But in a language you can’t read just yet

The Onion, my favorite fake news site has just published a great/hilarious article I think you guys should read… but just a forewarning, the theology is REAL bad in this article. It’s satire, so that shouldn’t be shocking.

So I have been studying James lately and here is what the Reformed Expository Commentary has to say on James 2:14
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
“They accept the Biblical diagnosis of the human condition. They understand how Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection remedy their estrangement from God. They go to church from time to time. They like to read and talk about spiritual things. They know the central teachings of Christian faith. They are pleasant folks. They seem to live decent lives, though they may indulge a vice or two. When conversation turns to Jesus or what happens after death, they sound like believers. They adhere to orthodox, evangelical theology.
Yet there is nothing distinctly Christian about behavior. They may be decent naighbors and may perform a little community service. But there is no real self-sacrifice, no costly obedience, no good deed that goes against the grain, nothing that challenged their well-designed life.”
I think this is one of the top problems that Christianity faces today. People who know everything, but live out nothing.
Jimmy said this the other day… “Why can’t people just die to the world, why can’t people be satisfied with the all satisfying Jesus?”
May you be satisfied in Him.

So today Lo and I went to pick up my birthday present from her at Ikea. It is the Billy Bookcase in black/brown finish. Its pretty freaking awesome. Luckily I will be getting a lot more books for my birthday and Christmas to put on it.

Also I got some film developed today at Walgreens. Being that they are not really professionals one of the new girls accidentally crumpled my negatives a little, but the results are pretty awesome in my opinion. Also this film expired in 2000, so it already had some unique attributes. Enjoy the eye candy…

I don’t care who you voted for or what you believe, but God is sovereign and we have a new leader. May he be a great president.
