A roll of film I shot this weekend of my roommate’s band was blank. It was my fault. I know why it happened and those were some of the best shots we took. I’m pissed.
and don’t post a comment saying you’re sorry…. just know I’m pissed.

I finally got done shooting my first roll of slide film and being the experimentalist I am when it comes to taking pictures I got the film cross processed (cross processing is the procedure of deliberately processing photographic film in a chemical solution intended for a different type of film). Color cross processed photographs are often characterized by unnatural colors and high contrast. Since this was my first time cross processing film I didn’t really know how to shoot for it… so most of the shots taken in natural lighting are underexposed, but for some of them I actually like this look.

So tonight lauren and I had Nick over and we made Chicken Marsala… it was probably one of the greatest things I have ever made… glorious indeed.
Macworld is tomorrow. Life is good.
And basically church was amazing. It is called Status and it was awesome…. I totally got the Epic feel from it and the pastor *late 20s* reminds me a lot of Driscoll. Their worship was 85% the same as Mars Hill in Seattle, which made me soooo happy. So I now have a church in Orlando that can challenge me. Service was basically John 15 and imagine that you were there and that Jesus was saying John 15 to you. How would that affect you? How would you be from there on out? Etc…. it was good.

So we went back to Ikea today to get my couch and boy was it glorious. We walked right into the warehouse and pulled it off the floor and put it into my car… then we went back in. We got ready to eat a lovely Swedish lunch, but lunch wasn’t served until 12, so we were forced to shop. I ended up getting a sweet lamp for $15, 3 throw pillows *like $10 total*, a bottle of sparkling pomegranite juice, and a few other things…. all in all it was awesome…
The it was time for our Swedish feast… We got Swedish Meatballs, Mashed potatoes and Lingonberries. Too drink we had a lovely mix of Sierra Mist and lingonberry juice *woot*. So after that I was very happen. *Ikea shots taken with my iPhone*

The Ikea warehouse… note that this is only where they store the big stuff, the rest of the store is laid out like bed bad and beyond/crate and barrel.

Then we came back to my place and set everything up in a very timely manner… I was very happy with how fast we got everything set up. Now it is time to get some homework done….

So this is my first post since college… I think… anywho… it’s been good (I think that’s a sufficient recap for now).
Today has by far been the best day as of yet. It began with a lovely shower and some lucky charms… not much after 11 Jesse Lash called me from the surf/skate expo and informed me he got me a $150 longboard for $70…. that is clearly an awesome deal and I will now have balling transportation to class. Then it was time for the mall so lo and I picked up nobi and kate and were off to Millenia… we made a dead bolt for Urban… now don’t get me wrong, I love Urban, but everytime I go there I get pissed and just want to leave. Today would not prove to be one of those days. I got everything I needed and then some.
They had the khakis i wanted in my size and on sale.
They had a hooded thermal cardigan in Charcoal.
They had sweet t-shirts 2 for $24.
They had a shirt with a lightning bolt on it for $10.
They had record frames 2 for $19.
I am now drinking the Urban Outfitter’s kool-aid.
We did some more perusing around the mall and I rediscovered the men’s section at Forever 21… it was totally legit this time, but I didn’t want to spend anymore money because I knew the best part of the day was yet to come…
And then we went to Ikea.
For those of you who don’t know… Ikea is the trendy Bed, Bath, and Beyond of Sweden. Everything is cheap, everything is amazing, you assemble it all yourself, and everything has a Swedish name. All they need is posters of Björn Borg and they’d be set. You can get a full Swedish meal in their Swedish cafeteria and buy a table to eat it on all for under $30. And did I mention that it’s larger than Home Depot? Well, it is and it is glorious. So we all went in and were in shock. I had been to an Ikea before *in Russia* but this one must have dwarfed the one in Moscow. My goal was to get a couch and what did I find for $129… a freaking dark gray love seat that folds out into a futon… holy crap is it ever glorious. So I wrote down the product number and was set to get it from the warehouse on our way out… So for the next 2-3 hours… yes we spent that much time there and we found so many glorious things… like the $3 rug I got or the $9 dollar rug I got *gray and pea green if you were wondering*. Lauren got a chandelier for $17, Kate got a wok for $7 and Nobi got a table for $14… all in all it was amazing. We finally got around to the warehouse section and sadly my couch was not there… it was like 3 levels up and they don’t get stuff down with the fork-lifts during the day due to the hazard it poses to the customers… which makes sense, but I think it is just a scheme to get you to come back the next day, which we are. I am so stoked too… I get to go back to Ikea!!!! So tomorrow morning, Lo and I will be driving to Ikea to dine on some fine swedish delicacies and to pick up my lovely couch.
After our Ikea day had ended we went back to Laurens place and ate some shells and had some sweet tea. Then we took Nobi home and I lost my keys, I was soooo pissed but after about 30 minutes of frantic searching we found them… We took Kate home and then Lo and I went to Natura’s Cafe for some coffee and a friendly fun atmosphere. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the “Women for Peace” group trying to raise their money for stopping the war in iraq or something like that. They had the mic to themselves and they basically just sang like 5 Alanis Morissette songs…
Yeah, that’s exactly what I thought too.
So after about an hour, they left and lauren and I moved to one of the newly open couches. A few guys sat down on the couches across from us and they were an interesting group… They had just come back from a Bob Marley tribute show so they were filled with THC and had confessed to drinking 5 beers each and were now on their 2nd bottle of Jack and Coke… They were surprisingly with it though. They provided us with a lovely conversation and company for the next hour. It was definitely good chill time for me and Lo and it was nice to hang out with some new people for the latter half of the evening… around 12:45 we left there and I took Lo home. I am now in my room wanting to go to Ikea… I hope I don’t turn into ‘the narrator’ from Fight Club.
